‘Noises off’ at Rivertown

“Noises Off” presents a manic menagerie as a cast of itinerant actors rehearse a flop called “Nothing’s On.” Doors slam, there’s backstage intrigue, and an errant herring figures in the plot of this farce. ‘The Money Box’ at Loyola

Ricky Graham presents his musical, “The Money Box,” based on Moliere’s “The Miser,” at Loyola University’s Marquette Theater on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 6 p.m. The play runs through March 17. Set in New Orleans in the 1960s, Graham’s musical tells the story of the stingy owner of a Bourbon Street club and his vivacious children. Tickets are $12. Call (504) 865-2074.

INTERNATIONAL BEER FESTIVAL

The New Orleans International Beer Festival showcases craft beer samples, live music, food and beer education seminars on topics including home brewing, food pairings and cooking with beer. $40 tickets include unlimited 2-ounce samples; there’s also a $20 “designated driver” ticket. SIDEWALK CHEF AWARD

The Street Vendor Project at the Urban Justice Center holds a competition for “best sidewalk chef” at the French Market on Wednesday, March 13.
