The Krewe of Maringouin’s 2013 Mardi Gras parade rolls at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Livonia Carnival Association presents its annual Mardi Gras parade at 1 p.m. Sunday in Livonia. For more information, call (225) 627-4943.

The Lundi Gras Parade will take place at 11 a.m. Monday in Bachelor. Festivities include parade of utility vehicles, wagons, carts, horses, chicken-chasing and a greased pig contest.

The Community Center Carnival Club of Pointe Coupee and the New Roads Lions Club parades will be held on Main Street in New Roads on Tuesday. The Community Center of Pointe Coupee parade begins at 11 a.m. The New Roads parade begins at 2 p.m.

Honoring victims

JusticeUs for D’Andre is hosting a celebration in his honor at 4 p.m. Saturday.

The organizers are asking all horse and trail riders to come out and support the program dedicated to ending domestic violence and supporting families of homicide victims.

Collection day

Keep West Baton Rouge Beautiful and Dow Chemical Co. are sponsoring West Baton Rouge Parish Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day from 8 a.m. to noon March 9 at the Louis Mouch Jr. Multi-Purpose Arena, 152 Turner Road, in Port Allen.

Fish fry

St. Augustine Catholic Church invites the public to its annual fried fish fundraiser scheduled each Friday from Feb. 15 through March 22.

Fried-fish plates will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays at the church hall.

At $10 per plate, dinners will include fried catfish, Creole rice, sweet peas, cole slaw and a dinner roll. For order and delivery, call (225) 638-4076 or (225) 638-7553.

Free concert

The public is invited to the Pointe Coupee Parish Historical Society’s “Pelican Chamber Music” free concert series in the Julien Poydras Museum and Arts Center auditorium.

The first concert will take place at 3 p.m. Feb. 17. Nichols Camereta will be the featured performer. The next concert in the series will be held at 3 p.m. March 17.

Alzheimer’s program

West Baton Rouge Parish school Superintendent David Corona asks that anyone interested in participating in Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area’s “Lunch and Learn” informational program contact him at david.corona@wbrschools.net.

Corona, who serves on the board of the organization, said “Lunch and Learn” will be held in late February or early March.

Alzheimer’s Services covers a 10-parish area, including West Baton Rouge. Anyone with Alzheimer’s or who is a relative or caregiver of someone with Alzheimer’s may attend the sessions.
