NEW ORLEANS — The seven newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame were introduced Sunday to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome crowd just before kickoff at Super Bowl XLVII between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens.
The seven-man class, which was elected Saturday, was on hand at midfield and introduced by PA announcer Alan Roach just before referee Jerome Boger conducted the pregame coin toss.
The contingent included six players — Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Jonathan Ogden, Warren Sapp, Curley Culp and Dave Robinson — as well as coach Bill Parcells, who won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants.
The group will be officially enshrined Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio, with the Hall of Fame game the next night.
LSU coach Les Miles and wife Kathy were spotted by TV cameras sitting with Jack and Jackie Harbaugh, the parents of the two Super Bowl coaches, in their suite during Sunday’s game.

As the winning team Sunday night, each member of the Ravens earned $88,000 — the same amount the New York Giants received for claiming the title in Super Bowl XLVI.
The Ravens will collect $172,000 per man for their four-game postseason run after winning $22,000 each for a wild-card game and divisional playoff game and $40,000 for the AFC Championship game.
Each of the 49ers received $44,000 on Sunday night and a total of $106,000 for three playoff games.

Safety Curtis Taylor, another former Tigers player, is a member of the Niners’ practice squad. LSU’s streak began with the 2001 season in the Superdome when New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk won the first of his three rings.
The Super Bowl will be played in the New York area for the first time next season in MetLife Stadium, an open-air stadium, in the New Jersey Meadowlands. The game is set for Feb. 2, 2014. Super Bowl XLIX, which has been awarded to Glendale, Ariz., has a tentative date of Feb. 1, 2015.
