A 25-year-old Bogalusa man faces an automatic sentence of life in prison following his conviction in the shooting death of a man on Gwen Drive in Baton Rouge in 2011.
An East Baton Rouge Parish jury unanimously found Anthony Peters guilty of second-degree murder Friday night in the September 2011 killing of Gregory King, 41.
State District Judge Richard Anderson is scheduled to sentence Peters on March 1.
Police went to King’s home on Sept. 15, 2011, after his relatives reported they had not heard from him in two days.
King was found inside his home dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
Prosecutor Tracey Barbera argued during the trial that King was asleep in his bed when he was killed. She said the motive was not clear.
