Legislators held a quick meeting Wednesday at the State Capitol to ensure a number of construction projects can vie for state funding.
The projects, which include a fire training facility for Baker and playgrounds for New Orleans, missed the Nov. 1 deadline to be considered by the Jindal administration for inclusion in the upcoming state construction, or capital outlay, budget.
The remedy was for the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay to meet and allow the projects to be considered.
Committee members spent more time dealing with technical problems than discussing the projects. Several microphones weren’t working.
