Makes about 21/2 dozen candies. Recipe is from Hershey’s.
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup cocoa
1 (14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tbl. vanilla extract
Cocoa or powdered sugar
1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Add cocoa and stir until smooth. Add sweetened condensed milk and increase heat to medium. Cook, stirring constantly, about 4 minutes or until mixture had puddinglike consistency and is smooth and glossy.
2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cover and refrigerate 3 to 4 hours or until firm. Shape into 11/4-inch balls, roll in cocoa or powdered sugar. Refrigerate until firm, 1 to 2 hours. Store, covered in refrigerator.
