Lafayette accident victim identified

LAFAYETTE —Lafayette police identified the motorcyclist killed Wednesday on Ambassador Caffery Parkway as Christopher Clement, of Lake Arthur.

Clement was riding south on Ambassador Caffery when he and a rider on another motorcycle came up on stopped traffic on an overpass near Cameron Street, police said.

Police said one rider was able to lay his motorcycle down before hitting a stopped vehicle, but Clement, 33, crashed into the rear of a Ford F-150 pickup and died at the scene.

The accident blocked traffic for more than an hour, police said.
