Firefighters on Tuesday were investigating a fire that destroyed a Winterhue Drive home off Siegen Lane.
Two residents at 10354 Winterhue Drive escaped unharmed, St. George Fire Department spokesman Eldon Ledoux said in a news release.
Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 5:06 a.m., Ledoux said in a news release.
The house had massive damage and was deemed a total loss, Ledoux said.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire Tuesday evening on Womack Road, the St. George Fire Department said.
Firefighters arrived at 19813 Womack Road at 6:02 p.m. and found “heavy fire coming from the home,” St. George Assistant Fire Chief Chad Roberson said in a news release.
The occupants had already escaped the home and gone to a neighbor’s house to call 911, Roberson said.
The fire was brought under control at 6:18 p.m., Roberson said.
The home is a total loss, Roberson said.
Emergency Medical Services personnel and East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies helped the St. George Fire Department with the fire, Roberson said. The Red Cross assisted the occupants, he said.
Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, booking records show.
