Friendship Force has January meeting

Friendship Force of Baton Rouge held its monthly meeting Jan. 14 at the East Baton Rouge Parish Jones Creek Regional Branch Library.

Thornton Cofield discussed the trip to New Zealand scheduled for April. Bob Duncan gave an update on the Friendship Force International Conference to be held in November in New Orleans. Since there is no chapter in New Orleans, the Baton Rouge Chapter will be the host club. President Barbara Wittkopf led a discussion on activities for 2013.

Museum Friends gets update on fundraiser

Lana Venable gave an update on the upcoming “A Night at the Louisiana State Museum” fundraiser at the Louisiana State Museum Friends monthly board meeting on Jan. 15 at the Capitol Park Museum. The fundraiser is scheduled for June 8.

Museum Division Director Bill Stark reported on upcoming museum events. The Lunchtime Lagniappe series will begin in March. A committee was appointed to plan a party at the museum on the day of the Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade for the Louisiana State Museum Friends. Ben Pierce will be the committee chair.
