Each week The Advocate asks a different “quiz taker” for his or her current favorites in pop culture.
QUIZ TAKER: Greg Jones, 39+ (Seemed like a good age to stop counting), retired landscape architect, vice president of Capital Area Animal Welfare Society, organizer of Sunday’s CAAWS Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: “Usually listen to various stations on Sirius/XM (satellite radio), all types of music with Pandora on computer, but surf local stations from time to time. I find Zydeco music pretty uplifting.”
WHAT I’M READING: “The Advocate, Baton Rouge Business Report, local magazines, technical books and publications when needed. I learn something new every day!”
WHAT I’M WATCHING: “Various news channels, a couple of great old western and action channels, National Geographic, Animal Planet and various movies.”
WHERE I’M SURFING (ON THE INTERNET): “Technical websites for information generally.”
WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? “ Chocolate, a good dark beer, hot boudin, golf, skiing and coursing (running) our dogs on a cool day.”
What is the funniest thing you’ve seen a dog (or a human) wear to the Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade?
“There was a basset hound dressed like a Chicago Al’s hot dog — great costume for that dog.”
EVENT INFORMATION: The Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade begins at Town Square on North Boulevard in downtown Baton Rouge with registration at 10 a.m. Sunday. The parade begins at 1:30 p.m. For information, visit http://www.caaws.org/parades.
