Louisiana Marathon returns this weekend

The second Louisiana Marathon Weekend is Friday-Sunday, Jan. 18-20, in Baton Rouge.

Runner from 47 states and 12 countries are expected.

Races include a marathon, half-marathon, a 5K fun run and optional three-person team scoring challenge, and a kids’ marathon.

The running festival will also offer an expo, family fest, speakers, music and food.

Highlights include: Kick-off Party, 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday, Hilton Baton Rouge; The Advocate Cypress 5K, 8 a.m. Saturday, Capitol Park Museum, 660 N. 4th St.; The Advocate Kids Marathon, 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Louisiana State Museum; Family Fest, 10 a.m. Saturday, Louisiana State Museum; Speaker Series, 4 p.m. Saturday, The Belle of Baton Rouge meeting rooms; pasta dinner, 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., The Belle of Baton Rouge; marathon and half-marathon, 6:50 a.m. Sunday, steps of the State Capitol to A.Z. Young Park; bands throughout the day Sunday at park; and after-race-after-party, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday, Manship Theatre.
