Rain closures, resources listed

Here is a list of area closings due to heavy rainfall over southern Louisiana:

• St. Helena Parish public schools, including the Recovery School District-run middle school, will be closed Thursday. The decision whether to reopen Friday will be made Thursday, school officials said.
• St. Mary Parish schools will be closed Thursday, according to the district’s website.
• The St. Helena Parish School Board meeting previously scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to Jan. 17.
