A grand jury indicted an 18-year-old Baton Rouge man Wednesday in the June 30 slaying of one man and the wounding of another on College Drive.
An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury charged Chattley Chesterfield, 1454 Jordan St., with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Jordan Key, 18, and attempted second-degree murder in the wounding of a 19-year-old man.
The shooting occurred at 2:27 a.m. in the 3000 block of College Drive at the road’s intersection with Rabey Street, which is near Interstate 10, police have said.
Key was found dead in a car. Chesterfield fired several shots into the car, according to a warrant for his arrest.
Chesterfield, who was 17 at the time, faces a possible sentence of life in prison if convicted of second-degree murder.
His case has been assigned to state District Judge Richard Anderson.
