N.O. slaying suspect booked in Tangipahoa

Authorities early Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man accused of killing a mother in front of her children and shooting at three others on Dec. 1.

Tiara Reynolds, 26, was shot and killed while her children looked on from the driveway of their house in the 2800 block of South Roman Street, police spokeswoman Remi Braden said in a news release.

Larry Haynes was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Tuesday night on one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder, Braden said.

U.S. Marshals and New Orleans police picked up Haynes in Kentwood, according to the news release.

Haynes will be transferred to Orleans Parish Prison on Wednesday, Braden said.

Authorities received a Crime Stoppers tip on Haynes’ whereabouts at a former girlfriend’s residence in Kentwood, Braden said.
