All lanes of Interstate 10 on the Mississippi River Bridge are open after a crash caused the lanes to be shut down Sunday morning, authorities said.
State Police sent out an email alert around 11 a.m. notifying drivers about the crash and traffic jams.
An update sent around 1:30 p.m. notified drivers that the crash was cleared.
A car hit an 18-wheeler around 10:45 a.m., Baton Rouge police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said. Authorities are not sure what caused the accident, he said.
Hazardous material crews were called to contain a leak after the 18-wheeler began leaking diesel fuel, McKneely said.
No injuries were reported, he said.
