Members of ULS board selected

Gov. Bobby Jindal late Thursday named eight members to the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, including the wife of a former aide.

Kelly Faircloth, a Pineville chiropractor, was tapped to replace her husband, Jimmy Faircloth, Jindal’s former executive counsel, on the board, according to Shannon Bates, a spokeswoman for the governor.

The 16-member board oversees the state’s largest higher education system, with more than 93,000 students and nine universities, including the University of New Orleans; Southeastern Louisiana University, in Hammond; University of Louisiana at Lafayette; and Louisiana Tech University, in Ruston.
