Le Krewe Mystique de la Capitale partied to a theme of “Disco Nights” for its 37th annual Mardi Gras tableau Jan. 26.
Reigning over the festivities at the Crowne Plaza Hotel were King Patrick Guy Blanchard and Queen Courtney Ann David, daughter of Donald Anthony David and Jennifer Billeaudeaux David. Ball captain was Kris Cangelosi.
Accompanying the royal court as pages were Chloe McGehee, Victoria Rose St. Romain, Abigail Nicole Mire, Claire Elizabeth Morgan and Morgan Grace Simmons.
Guests were greeted at each table by sparkle mesh, Mardi Gras beads and a revolving mirror disco ball, that served as a take-home favor to the table winner.
A custom gold and silver shimmering rain curtain, similar to that used in the Broadway production of “Chicago,” backed the stage and was centered with the krewe’s crown for royalty seating during the tableau.
Six tables reserved for royalty featured custom centerpieces ranging from oversized crowns to the ball captain’s “go-go” boots, all topped with fresh “tie-dye” roses representing the disco era.
A custom hand-glittered name atop a necklace stand on a base of silk peonies marked each of the 12 debutante tables.
Presented as debutantes were Taylor Alesce Morris, daughter of Brian Christopher Morris and Debra Dauzat Morris; Elizabeth Jane Sherman, daughter of Stephen L. Sherman and Elizabeth Jane Sherman; Caroline Aimee Marchand, daughter of Gerald Matthew Marchand and Susan Miciotto Marchand; Francesca Maria Ferrara, daughter of Frank J. Skip Ferrara Jr. and Dede Sabagh Ferrara; Camille Alene Peré, daughter of Henry William Peré III and Shari Alexander Peré; Laura Elizabeth Duhon, daughter of Daniel Louis Duhon and Andreé Schwab Duhon;
Also Anna Maria Conaway, daughter of David Conaway and Dawn Conaway; Jamie Ann Gaudet, daughter of Thomas Gerald Gaudet and Tanya Ann Gaudet; Christina Michelle Leggio, daughter of Michael A. Leggio and Cheryl B. Leggio; Ana Gabrielle Marino, daughter of Gino Joseph Marino and Karen Mahtouz Marino; Anna Katherine LeBlanc Dazzio, daughter of Warren Louis Dazzio and Alison Sanford Dazzio; and Donalyn Marie Norris, daughter of William Hamilton Norris and Tonilyn Robillard Norris.
Ball captain’s decorations were designed by Amy Neck and Sandy Leblanc.
Chris Nakamoto of WBRZ was master of ceremonies, and choreography was by Kris Cangelosi. Sound, lights and strobes were by Bob Blanchard.
The Magnolia Band provided entertainment, with a backdrop of artwork featuring disco dancers, and a revolving custom krewe logo.
