The LSU Tigers mark New Year’s Eve the way their fans in the state and the nation are used to, with a highly competitive bowl appearance Monday.
The two Tiger teams on the field, Clemson University being the other, will doubtless provide a tremendous game for the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta. While Tiger fans of the Louisiana variety would have rather seen their team in other venues, this is a great match-up and one that we can look forward to.
That this year has been marked with too much off-the-field drama for the LSU Tigers is well-known, and has an impact in the bowl game with the absence of suspended punter Brad Wing. But this is a 10-2 team, despite the big one that got away against Alabama, ranked in the Top Ten in the nation and playing in a high-profile bowl game on New Year’s Eve.
Not at all a bad year for LSU football, and a victory would cap it off perfectly.
We congratulate Coach Les Miles and his team for their season, and wish them the best in the Georgia Dome.
