Baton Rouge police Sunday night arrested a 30-year-old man accused of stabbing a 24-year-old man at an apartment on Convention Street, police said Monday.
Derek Prince, 1410 Convention St., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of attempted second-degree murder, police spokesman Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said.
Prince and the 24-year-old victim began arguing at an apartment in the 1400 block of Convention Street, Stubbs said.
Prince pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed the victim several times in the upper torso and near his face, Stubbs said.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive, Stubbs said.
Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish — including a man accused of a fourth-offense DWI — and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
