The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested the third suspect in Metairie bar robbery earlier this month in which an alert citizen helped to solve the crime.
Lance McIntyre, 21, of Metairie had been wanted by police since Dec. 5 after authorities say he robbed the Turtle Bar on Karen Street with two other men. McIntyre was arrested without incident on Tuesday, according to an arrest report.
The Sheriff’s Office previously reported that McIntyre robbed the bar with Henry Chairs, 21, and Daniel Shaw, 18. All three men have been booked with three counts of armed robbery.
According to authorities, the three men burst into the bar around 7 p.m. on Dec. 3. All three men were masked and two of them were armed, police said. The men robbed both the bar patrons and the bartender.
However, as the men were fleeing in a getaway vehicle, one of the patrons followed them and managed to get a license plate number and vehicle description for authorities. Investigators were able to use that information to find Shaw. He not only confessed to the incident, but also gave detectives information on the other participants, which led to the arrest of Chairs and eventually McIntyre.
