Raymond Allmon has been named Baton Rouge city director by Stand for Children Louisiana, which supports efforts to get children a quality education. He previously worked with New Leaders for New Schools, where he was responsible for driving achievement in hard-to-staff schools in the New Orleans area.

Tej P. Shah has been named senior vice president of business development at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. He was an associate partner with Oliver Wyman, an international management consulting firm that specializes in strategy, operations, risk management, organizational transformation and leadership development.

Chuck Roth has been named executive director of Boys Hope Girls Hope Baton Rouge and also is currently serving as executive director of Boys Hope Girls Hope of New Orleans. He was the executive director of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baltimore for nine years before moving to New Orleans as program director and executive director there.

Guillermo Ferreyra, professor of math and associate dean for science education in the College of Science, has been appointed interim dean of the LSU College of Science, effective Jan. 1.

M. Jack Sanders has been named president and chief executive officer of Hartsville, S.C.-based Sonoco, effective April 1, and will serve on the board of directors effective immediately. Sanders, a 1976 LSU graduate and native of Alexandria, is currently president and chief operating officer of Sonoco.


Kim A. Perret has been named chief marketing officer for the Jones Walker law firm in New Orleans. Perret Kim was director of marketing and business development with Hunton & Williams in Washington, D.C.

Robert Lawyer, a professor at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, has been elected chairman of the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana board of trustees for the next two years.

Joe A. Potts Jr., of Metairie, a former president of the Jefferson Federation of Teachers, and retired from the Jefferson Parish Public School System of Metairie, was elected to a two-year term as vice chairman.


Jay Northcutt, of Lafayette, has been named operations general manager at Tesla Offshore. Northcutt was geophysical manager for C & C Technologies.
