DETAILS: There will be entertainment from such performers as Miranda Mann and Buffi Monet. Additionally, those in attendance are encouraged to participate in the Tacky Christmas Sweater Contest. Winner will receive two passes on the club’s float in the Spanish Town Parade on Feb. 9. Bring nonperishable food items for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to be entered in the door prize contest.
Kenilworth lights up the neighborhood.
WHAT: The Kenilworth Civic Association’s annual Lighting of the Luminaries.
WHEN: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
WHERE: Throughout Kenilworth Subdivision, off Perkins Road in Baton Rouge.
DETAILS: Residents buy candles and bags and participate in the holiday tradition. Be sure to drive through the streets and see homes decked out for the neighborhood’s Christmas/holiday decorations contest.

DETAILS: Adoption is $12 each for all cats and dogs. All animals are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. There are 10 spaces available for delivery on Christmas Day. A minimum donation of $250 to CAA is required. Email for more information. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday through Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. It is closed on Mondays and Christmas Day.
