LAFAYETTE — More than 300 students will graduate from South Louisiana Community College during fall commencement exercises Thursday at the Cajundome Convention Center.
The ceremony is the college’s first since its merger with Acadiana Technical College, and graduates representative of all technical campuses will participate in the ceremony.
“This semester’s graduation ceremony will be an exciting celebration,” SLCC Chancellor Natalie Harder said. “Not only are we celebrating another group of high-quality, workforce-ready graduates, but we are also celebrating our first graduation since our merger.”
South Louisiana Community College and Acadiana Technical College merged July 1.
Sharon Moss, owner/president of Lafayette-based Moss Motors, will serve as the college’s commencement speaker.
Harder and other college administrators will award graduates’ degrees, certificates, and diplomas. The college’s Academic Excellence Award will be given to students with the highest overall grade-point averages.
The program is set to begin at 7 p.m.
