Congratulations to LSU Professor James Oxley, who has been named to the university’s highest academic rank, Boyd Professor.
As a teacher and researcher at LSU for 30 years, Oxley has become an international expert on mathematics, unraveling the complex theories underlying the world of electrical engineering and computer networks that are part of everyday life.
His work has been underwritten by grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency.
His is the 45th Boyd professorship on the main campus in Baton Rouge and 70th in the LSU System campuses. His career is another example of the international stature commanded by LSU faculty, and their contributions to human progress.
