Deputies arrested a man accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home, punching her arms and holding her down on her living room sofa, according to an affidavit warrant.
Jason Duane Mack, 31, 5638 Beech St., was booked Tuesday by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office with home invasion, simple battery and resisting an officer, Parish Prison records show.
The incident occurred Nov. 16 at the victim’s home on King Bradford Drive just after 1 a.m., the warrant says.
About 10 minutes later, deputies arrived at the home and ordered Mack to put his hands behind his back, the warrant says. Mack ran off in a wooded area, the warrant says.
Baton Rouge police Tuesday arrested a 20-year-old man accused in an armed robbery Nov. 24 at a Seneca Street grocery store, according to an arrest warrant.
Two masked men — one wielding a handgun — approached a man sitting in the parking lot of Rite Way Grocery at 3632 Seneca at 11 p.m. and took the victim’s phone and $300, the warrant says.
The masked men brought the victim into the grocery store, where one man demanded that a store employee hand over his gun and money from the cash register, the warrant says.
The employee said he did not have a gun but opened the register and handed over about $2,500 from it, the warrant says.
Jonathan McKeey, 3322 Chippewa St., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery.
Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.
