Powdered Walnuts and Pecans
Serves 8 to 10. Recipe is by Julie Kay.
1 lb. shelled pecans
1 lb. shelled walnuts
6 tbls. butter, melted
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1. Empty packages of nuts into slow cooker and coat with melted butter.
2. Cook on Low for 2 hours. Remove cover of slow cooker and turn to High.
3. Cook on High for 1 to 2 hours with lid off, stirring frequently. Remove to platter to cool. Sift confectioners’ sugar over all, stirring well as you sift.
Note: For ease and convenience, put cooled nuts into self-sealing plastic bag and sift confectioners’ sugar over nuts in bag. Close bag securely and shake to distribute sugar.
