A Port Allen pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday, State Police said in a news release.
Denisce M. McCurley, 48, was hit from behind by a car while she was walking partially on the pavement of La. 76 east near La. 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish, Trooper First Class Jared L. Sandifer said in a news release.
Troopers determined that the vehicle involved in the incident is possibly a Ford E-150 or E-250 Van or box type vehicle with front-end damage, possibly in the headlight area.
Troopers don’t know if McCurley, of Port Allen, had been drinking before she was hit. However, they have submitted a toxicology sample taken from McCurley to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis, the release says.
Troopers asked the public to contact Louisiana State Police Troop A at (225) 754-8500, or their local law enforcement agency, if they can help locate the suspect vehicle.
