Beer delivery truck snatched off Decatur in broad daylight

New Orleans — The most stolen car in America, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, is the Honda Accord, a car so common that even a pilfered one can hide in plain sight. Some enterprising criminal will need to get a little creative to hide the ride he or she shanghaied Wednesday morning.

Police are searching for a Miller beer delivery truck someone stole from outside of a French Quarter business.

The driver told investigators that he parked his truck in front of a business in the 600 block of Decatur Street about 8 a.m. to make his deliveries. He found an empty spot when he returned a short time later.

He told police he left the keys inside the truck and the doors were unlocked while he made his deliveries.

Police described the truck as a blue, white and yellow 2006 International Truck with Louisiana license plate B 710261. “Miller Beer” is written on each side of the cargo area.

Detective Jason Sloan is leading the investigation.

Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or (877) 903-7867.

Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and indictment could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000, which can buy about 167 six-packs of beer.
