Physician chosen to receive Kaplan Award

Dr. Jack Jacob, an Ob-Gyn, will receive the Murrel H. Kaplan Compassionate Physician Award on Tuesday at Touro.

The Kaplan Award recognizes an active Touro Infirmary medical staff member for compassion, empathy, respect for the patient as a whole person and care for the patient’s welfare.

Jacob has been a member of the Touro medical staff since 1974. He received his medical degree from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans.

Jacob also worked in his own private practice in New Orleans after his residency.
