Le Feu et l’Eau, Arnaudville’s annual arts celebration, is set for 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.

Events include art exhibits, food, live music, craft demonstrations, documentary screenings and poetry readings.

Activities will take place throughout Arnaudville and at the NUNU Arts and Culture Collective, 1510 La. 93, at the edge of town.

Christmas in Delcambre

A gumbo cook-off and two parades are planned next month in Delcambre to mark the Christmas season.

The Holiday Gumbo Cook-off is scheduled for Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. at the Delcambre Shrimp Festival Grounds, 411 S. Richard St.

Music, food and children’s activities are planned throughout the day.

All you can eat gumbo is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger.

A Christmas Boat Parade on the Delcambre Canal is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Dec. 8. A children’s carnival will be held before the parade beginning at 3 p.m. at the Shrimp Festival Building.

Santa Claus will be available for pictures at the parade viewing area at the North Pier Marina, 307 Isadore St.

Delcambre’s Christmas street parade is scheduled to roll down Main Street at 2 p.m. Dec. 9.

Storytelling festival

Cité des Arts in downtown Lafayette will host the Hub City Theater and Storytelling Festival Dec. 6-9.

The festival will showcase original writing, as well as street performances and workshops.

A taste of Broussard

The Broussard Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring “A Taste of Broussard” on Dec. 6 to highlight the town’s businesses and accomplishments.

The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the The Madison in Broussard.

Local restaurants will offer food, retail shops will show off their goods, and government and business leaders will give presentations about the town.

Admission is $5. Chamber members receive two complimentary tickets.

Symphony Christmas show

The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra will give a special Christmas performance on Dec. 13, featuring guitarist Sonny Landreth and a chorus of children from area schools and youth programs.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. a the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette.

Ticket prices range from $20 to $48.

Singer-songwriter series

The Performing Arts Society of Acadiana’s “Singer+Songwriter Series” opens on Friday with Darden Smith at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in downtown Lafayette.
