KROTZ SPRINGS — A 73-year-old Krotz Springs man died Monday morning in a fire that destroyed his mobile home at 795 Front St., according to a news release from State Fire Marshal Butch Browning’s office.
The remains of Floyd Mason, a double amputee, were located near a door of his home, the release stated.
The cause remains under investigation, the release stated, but the man reportedly smoked while using oxygen and a space heater was detected in his living room, where investigators believe the fire may have originated.
