What we learned
After stumbling from time to time in games like this, the Saints didn’t come all the way to the Bay Area to lay a big egg. With an opportunity to reach the .500 mark, they took care of business against an outmanned Raiders’ team from the start.
The Saints are starting to get their running game going. After rushing for 100 yards just once in their first seven games, they reached triple digits for the third straight week with 153 yards and a 5.5 average on 28 carries against the Raiders.
With five wins in their past six games, the Saints are dangerously close to being in the thick of the playoff hunt despite that horrid 0-4 start. We will know a lot more, however, after the next two games when they take on the 49ers (6-2-1) and Falcons (9-1).
