November 19 is the deadline to sign up for the Jambalaya Festival Association’s Christmas Parade, which is set for 2 p.m. Dec. 9 in Gonzales.
“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is the theme for this year’s parade, which starts near East Ascension High School and travels north on Burnside Avenue to the mall on Burnside Shopping Center, where the parade will dismantle.
Parade entries are confined to marching groups, individual cars carrying dignitaries and floats decorated within the limits of the theme.
Each entry is judged in four categories — overall appearance, use of theme, creativity and effort.
No late applications will be accepted, parade organizer Fran Baker said.
For applications, visithttp://www.jambalayafestival.org or call Baker at (225) 931-7709; Tammy Guillory, (225) 405-8943; Vanessa Blair (225) 715-4383 or the association at (225) 647-2937.
