I appreciate the responses regarding this column and references to weather experiences in western Pennsylvania. On Monday, our Executive Producer Trey Schmaltz and Marketing Director Noah Kozinko visited the Weather Center “suggesting” I draw a comparison between hurricanes Isaac and Sandy. My loyalty to our viewers constitutes a forecast targeting the coldest weather we’ve had since February and the forecast for the LSU-Alabama game. I understood one-sixth of the population of the country is concentrated in the area affected by this storm and furthered that our viewers are more experienced with hurricanes. Isaac put an 11-foot storm surge on Shell Beach with gusts to 85 mph at Grand Isle and 901,000 outages. As of this writing, Sandy has caused power outages and shutdowns for 2.7 million. Fastcast: Perfect.
