Nacho Momma’s Popcorn
Makes 10 cups. Recipe is from The Popcorn Board.
2 tbls. oil
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
1⁄3 cup nutritional yeast
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. cayenne pepper sauce, divided
3 tbls. butter
1. Place oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot with a lid. Add about 3 popcorn kernels. Heat over medium-high heat until a kernel pops. Add remaining popcorn and cover. Once the corn begins to pop, shake the pot constantly over heat. When the popping slows, remove the pot from the heat and transfer popcorn to a large bowl.
2. Place nutritional yeast and garlic powder in a small bowl. Slowly add 1/2 teaspoon of the cayenne pepper sauce, a few drops at a time, stirring with a fork to blend it well.
3. Melt butter and mix in remaining 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper sauce. Pour butter mixture over popcorn and toss. Sprinkle the nutritional yeast mixture over the popcorn and toss.
4. Add salt to taste. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
