She began her service to the conference on Sept. 1, replacing Bishop William W. Hutchinson, who retired to Las Cruces, N.M., after leading the conference for 12 years.

Baton Rouge Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally: noon, Louisiana State Capitol, North Third Street and State Capitol Drive, Baton Rouge, to voice public opposition to a government mandate which would require employer health plans to provide free contraceptives.
