Bra Art Fundraiser

You’ve likely never seen bras like these.

WHAT: BUST Breast Cancer: Bra Art Fundraiser.

WHEN: 7 p.m. Thursday.

DETAILS: The bra art-fashion show, put on by BR Walls Project and Privé, is meant to raise awareness and funding for Woman’s Hospital breast cancer care, support and education services. Breast cancer survivors and models will show bras adorned by area artists with paint, jewelry, photography, poetry, fabric, glass, mixed media or other medium. The bras will then be auctioned off via a silent auction.

Baton Rouge Green is having its fall tree sale and celebration.

DETAILS: Now is the time to select new trees. This annual event is an opportunity to pick up locally grown landscape trees at competitive prices and support Baton Rouge Green. This year’s selection will include several species of native storm-resistant trees. Tree experts will be on hand to help with selections from the dozens of varieties. New this year will be a Plant Smart Tent with the following talks: 9:30 a.m., “Tree Selection: The Right Tree in the Right Place”; 10:15 a.m., “The Benefits of Planting Native Species”; and 11 a.m., “How to Plant Your New Tree.”
