Former girlfriends accused in attack

New Orleans — According to police, a 25-year-old New Orleans man found out that being a Casanova can have serious consequences after two of his ex-girlfriends broke into his home Tuesday morning and threatened him with knives.

Police said the incident happened shortly before 11:15 a.m. in the 2200 block of Monterey Street in Gentilly. The victim told police that he was home alone when he heard a knock at the door and went to investigate.

When he looked outside he saw two former girlfriends, Lenell Walter, 27, and Ronnika Allen, 25, at the door. The two women were yelling and cursing at the victim and demanded that he open the door. When the victim refused, the two women threatened to break down the door, the report stated. The victim then retreated farther into his home.

At that point, the man told police one of the women opened a front window at the home and climbed inside. She later let in the other woman. The victim barricaded himself in another area of the home and at that point, he said, the two women began to ransack his apartment. They even armed themselves with steak knives, according to the report.

The man told police that women stole several items and broke his laptop before leaving the home. While outside, they broke a window on his car and scratched a fender, the report said.

The victim told police that he already had a protective order against Allen that barred her from having contact with him. Police were able to arrest Walter without incident but are still searching for Allen. Walter was booked on Wednesday with aggravated burglary, simple criminal damage to property and aggravated assault. She is being held at the Orleans Parish Lockup and bail has not yet been set. Allen is wanted for those same charges, in addition to violating a protective order.
