Archaeologist to talk about excavations

Rob Mann will talk about recent archaeological excavations at the LSU campus mounds during an Oct. 18 presentation at the Ascension Parish Library in Galvez.

Mann, Louisiana’s Southeast Regional Archaeologist, will share the findings of his team’s most recent dig at the LSU Campus Mounds during the 6:30 p.m. presentation.

The LSU Mounds, which date back approximately 6,000 years to the Archaic period, are some of the oldest Native American mounds found in the country, and they are located on the northwest corner of the LSU campus.
