NEW ORLEANS — A 36-year-old man is dead and a 44-year-old man is in stable condition after a wreck Sunday on Interstate 10 eastbound near the Michoud Boulevard exit, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The 44-year-old man was driving a four-door Jeep east on I-10 about 4 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, the Jeep left the road and struck the guardrail, causing it to flip multiple times, police said.
The driver was ejected onto the road, and the 36-year-old man, who was in the passenger’s seat, remained trapped in the Jeep, police said.
The 36-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 44-year-old driver was taken to a hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
The identities of the driver and passenger were not released.
A toxicology test will be performed, police said .
NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police found a car stolen from an Uptown resident who was shot Tuesday night in an armed robbery on Camp Street, police said Sunday.
Seventh District officers recovered the 2004 Cadillac Escalade in a New Orleans East neighborhood early Saturday afternoon after a resident spotted the car and called police, according to police.
Detectives said three people took the vehicle from the 53-year-old victim after shooting him as he sat in his driveway in the 3400 block of Camp Street.

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police arrested two men Saturday night in the armed holdup of a gas station on South Carrollton Avenue, according to a police news release.
The victims told police that Eugene Thomas, 18, and Javine Bonner, 20, entered the store together in the 1400 block of South Carrollton just after 10:30 p.m.
One of them pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money from the register police said.
The pair took a customer’s iPhone before running down Carrollton toward Plum Street, police said.
Officers found two men fitting the description of the robbers in the 1200 block of Monroe Street.
Thomas was captured without incident, and officers caught Bonner as he was trying to jump over a fence on Monroe Street.
Officers found the stolen iPhone and cash when they searched the two men.
Police later recovered a gun that Bonner admitted to hiding under a window on the side of a house in the 1200 block of Monroe.
Both Thomas and Bonner were booked into Orleans Parish Prison on counts of armed robbery.
Thomas has been previously arrested for armed robbery and use of a firearm, and has other outstanding warrants, according to police.
He is on parole until Dec. 29 for first-degree robbery, police said.
Police said Bonner has been previously arrested for armed robbery.
