NEW ORLEANS — The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $3.8 million contract to raise the Mississippi River levee in the Carrollton area.
About 10,000 feet of levee will be raised one to two feet along the east bank of the river between the New Orleans/Jefferson Parish line and Audubon Park Riverview.
The work is expected to take up to 1 year .
