Sixteen marching bands from around Louisiana will be showcased during the seventh annual Dutchtown High School Invitational Marching Festival on Oct. 20 at the high school in Geismar.
The event, set to begin at 1 p.m., is sponsored by the school’s Band Boosters Club.
Set to compete are Assumption, Brusly, Central of Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Donaldsonville, East Ascension, Parkview Baptist, Port Allen, Sam Houston of Lake Charles, Slidell, St. Amant, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Thomas More, Walker and Woodlawn High School high schools.
The host school’s band, the Dutchtown Sound, will be featured in an exhibition performance.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free admission to those under 5 and 65 and older. Ascension Parish middle school band members wearing their band shirt and members of the military in uniform will also get in for free.
Concessions will be sold.
