A 45-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in a wheelchair and her 4-year-old sister has been arrested, according to an arrest warrant.
Darrin Morgan, 11536 Millburn Drive, Baton Rouge, was booked last week by Baton Rouge Police on two counts of an aggravated sex crime, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.
Morgan was still in Parish Prison on Wednesday.
The girls’ mother said Morgan admitted to her that he sexually assaulted them, according to the warrant.
A 25-year-old dance teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old student has been arrested, according to an arrest warrant.
Donald Ray Aikens, 13857 Blaircliff Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked Tuesday on three counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.
Aikens met the student at the dance studios where he teaches at 9930 Florida Blvd., according to the warrant.
A man wanted in the Aug. 14 shooting death of D’Andre Robertson was arrested Tuesday and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Trei Bailey, 19, 4766 Shelley St., Baton Rouge, was booked on one count each of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
Bailey is accused of shooting Robertson at 10:50 p.m. in the face outside his home while the men watched two sisters fight about baby clothes, an affidavit of probable cause says.
Bailey’s brother, Lee Williams, 24, 4766 Shelley St., was initially arrested and accused of the shooting shortly after it occurred.
However, after additional evidence was collected, Bailey was arrested in the death, court documents say.
But Williams was booked into Parish Prison on a count of obstruction of justice for not being completely honest with Baton Rouge police when he initially told them what happened, an affidavit of probable cause says.
An unidentified pedestrian was hit and thrown in the air by a Jeep on Siegen Lane on Tuesday night, according to a State Police news release.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Joseph Maldonado, 27, of Baton Rouge, was driving a 2011 Jeep Cherokee south on Siegen Lane in the right lane at the intersection of Rieger Road when he struck a man walking in the roadway at 8 p.m., the release said.
Maldonado steered right to avoid the pedestrian, but struck him with the left side of the Jeep.
Maldonado brought his vehicle to a stop nearby.
Although troopers did not suspect alcohol to have been a factor in the crash, Maldonado voluntarily submitted a breath sample that showed he had no detectable alcohol in his system.
Troopers were unable to secure a blood sample from the pedestrian due to the extent of his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation, the news release says.
East Baton Rouge Parish deputies located a Metairie woman Wednesday who had been missing since Sunday afternoon.
Lillie B. Magee, 49, was found in Kinder and is “OK,” Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said.
Authorities arrested at least five people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.
