Schools to hold 4 makeup days

The Recovery School District announced Friday its plan to make up the four days schools were closed in East Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee and St. Helena parishes during Hurricane Isaac.

Makeup dates for the seven schools in East Baton Rouge Parish — Dalton Elementary, Lanier Elementary, Glen Oaks Middle, Prescott Middle, Crestworth Learning Academy, Capitol High and Istrouma High — will be Nov. 19-20 and Dec. 20-21, according to an RSD news release.

Pointe Coupee Central High School makeup days will be Nov. 19-20 and Dec. 21, which will become a full day after originally being scheduled as a half day, the release said.

St. Helena Central Middle School will follow the same makeup plan as the St. Helena Parish School District, the release said, referring parents to contact district officials for more updates regarding their plan.

All of the RSD schools in the three parishes were closed Aug. 28-31 due to Isaac’s path and impact.
