BAKER — Most activities in the annual Baker Buffalo Festival, which benefits city schools, will be held Sept. 27-29 in the City Hall Park on Groom Road, but some events will be held next week, according to the festival schedule.
The festival activities, along with entry forms as needed, are available by clicking the “Our City” tab on the home page of Baker’s website, http://www.cityofbakerla.us.
Wednesday is the deadline for entries in the Baker Buffalo Festival Rose Queen Pageant, which will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, in the Baker Municipal Auditorium. The pageant is open to girls and young women 8 to 23 years old.
Entry forms are available on the website or by calling Carrie Gagliano at (225) 715-9120.
The festival golf tournament will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Park. A registration form is on the website, but teams also may call the mayor’s office at (225) 778-0300 for information.w
The annual “Running of the Buffaloes” 5-kilometer and mile runs will be held at Greenwood Park at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, with registration to begin at 7 a.m. at the park’s Waterfront Pavilion.
