Mixed martial arts event in Denham Springs

Gladiator Promotions will be back at the Northpark Assembly Center in Denham Springs on Saturday, July 28, for Summer Knockouts. In this mixed martial arts (MMA) event, local favorite and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Kyle Bradley (17-9) will return to the cage to challenge Zach Kelley (5-1).

Bradley is the head MMA instructor at the Gladiators Academy of Baton Rouge and is coming off of a unanimous decision win against Ryan Bixler. Kelley is a Bellator Fighting Championship veteran and has an impressive record of just one loss by decision. He has a strong wrestling background and has won his fights by submissions and ground and pound knockouts.

For Kelley, this will be a test in his skill as he steps into the cage with the more experienced Bradley. However, if Kelley catches Bradley on the ground in a full guard position, it may be all over for the more experienced fighter.

Calvin Miller (3-3) and Matt Hunt (3-2) will be the co-main event of the night.

"This fight has the potential to be a good stand up war," Tony Jarreau, owner of Gladiator Promotions, said.

Miller is the head kickboxing instructor at Gladiator Academy of Baton Rouge and has a background in American-style kickboxing. With his opponent having a strong Muay Thai background, Miller expects a good stand up competition.

"Get ready for an action-packed fight," Miller said.

Miller has the hometown advantage and has fierce strikes and power. Therefore, he has the potential to walk away with a knockout victory if he and Hunt start a nice exchange of intense strikes. If Miller gets caught in a Muay Thai clinch against the cage, however, Hunt make take advantage of this position and finish the fight.
