Southern University is urging attendees of Friday’s summer commencement ceremonies to arrive early because of parking changes caused by the resurfacing of the F.G. Clark Activity Center Parking lot.
A university news release advises that guests can park as early as 7:30 a.m. University police encouraged attendees to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m.
The university has designated lots on Harding Boulevard and Swan Street as commencement parking. Buses will be available to transport guests to and from the Activity Center, the release says.
People with handicapped tags are asked to enter the campus from Harding Boulevard. Those vehicles will be provided parking spaces on the west side of the Activity Center, according to the university.
Southern’s Police Department urges faculty members and persons with VIP cards to enter the campus from the Mills Avenue entrance. Those vehicles will be directed to parking areas on the north side, or the Swan Street side of the Activity Center.
