Southeastern honors top business students

Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Business honored its top students at the college’s annual honors convocation May 3.

Award recipients from Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes were Enkhsanaa Erdene-Ochir of Hammond, Outstanding Academic Award in Economics; Jeremy Gill of Denham Springs, Distinguished Graduate in Supply Chain Management; and Alicen Holden of Denham Springs, Distinguished Graduate in Marketing.

The college named David Winkler its 2012 Outstanding Alumnus. He received his bachelor’s degree from SLU in 1978 and has been in the accounting industry for more than 30 years. He is a founding member and managing partner of the CPA firm Faulk and Winkler of Baton Rouge.

The college honored inductees of the 13 Club and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies and presented departmental awards and scholarships to:

DENHAM SPRINGS: Baylen Fontenot, Alexander J. Berey Endowed Scholarship in Business; Alicen Holden, Dallas LaRoy & Helen Calmes Memorial Scholarship; Mitchell Carter, Entergy Scholarship in Accounting.

HAMMOND: Asish Poddar, Frances A. Payne Endowed Scholarship in Business; Forrest Guedry, Harry & Audrey Gabriel Endowed Scholarship in Business; Enkhsanaa Erdene-Ochir, John & Beverly Manzella Scholarship in Business Administration; Sara Smira, National Association of Purchasing Managers, Baton Rouge Affiliate Award; and Justin Daniel, Patrick & Gail Ponder Endowed Scholarship in Business.
