Police investigate parking lot shooting

A man was shot multiple times Thursday night on Greenwell Springs Road in an old Sears warehouse parking lot, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department news release.

The 25-year-old victim is in critical condition but expected to survive, police said in the release.

Police were called out to a Texaco gas station in the 2800 block of North Lobdell Boulevard at 7:09 p.m. to respond to a man shot.

The shooting itself occurred in the Greenwell Springs Road parking lot, police said in the release.

There is no known motive for the shooting at this time, police said.

Detectives seek man who robbed bank

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a man who robbed the MidSouth bank branch at 6677 Siegen Lane on Friday, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said in a news release.

The robbery occurred at 12:20 p.m.

According to reports, the man walked in the front door and presented a bank employee with a note demanding money, Hicks said.

After receiving an undisclosed amount, he left the bank on foot south on Siegen Lane.

He is described as white, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, late 40s, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

7 booked into prison on DWI counts

Authorities arrested at least seven people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

• Alyssa Adams, 24, 13531 Briarlake Ave., first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle, failure to signal and improper lane usage.
• Jerry Ashworth, 30, 940 Stanford Ave., second-offense DWI, reckless driving, license plate light required and operating while license suspended for prior offense.
• Nicole Kemp, 20, 9167 Mason Drive, Denham Springs, first-offense DWI, failure to signal and disobeying red light.
• Taylor Peterson, 20, 8924 Peterson St., St. Francisville, first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle and improper lane usage.
• William Sutherlin, 19, 420 Old Landing Road, first-offense DWI and turns not allowed.
• Sedric Thompson, 35, 2116 68th St., second-offense DWI, careless driving and driver’s license required/expired.
• William Wilson, 41, 8871 Cedar Circle, first-offense DWI.
