--DARKNESS TO LIGHT STEWARDS FOR CHILDREN TRAINING: 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., North Oaks Livingston Parish Medical Complex, 17199 Spring Ranch Road, Livingston. Child Advocacy Services is providing the program, Darkness to Light Stewards of Children, to train parents, teachers, coaches, universities and businesses to recognize, respond and report child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light Stewards of Children is a research-based program proven to help adults successfully protect children from sexual abuse. The cost for training is $15. --JEWELRY MAKING AND BEADING CLASS: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Livingston Parish Arts Council, 133 Hummell St., Denham Springs. Stacey Baxter will teach the basics of making a bracelet to ages 13 and up. The cost is $25 along with a $7 supply fee.

--HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS BENEFIT: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Surplus Supply across from Holmes Building Materials, 1102 Florida Blvd., Denham Springs. As part of its celebration of 60 years in business, Holmes Building Materials will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of merchandise at Surplus Supply to Homes for Our Troops. The benefit will continue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
